Bus Driver Hit With Stone

Police in Peel are appealing for information following a Bus Driver who was injured after being hit with a stone. Shortly before midnight on Saturday night (25th June 2011) a Bus Driver who was travelling along the Main Road in Glen Vine towards Douglas had to stop his Bus to remove some obstacles that had been purposely left in the roadway near to Ballagarey Traffic Lights in Glen Vine. Whilst removing the obstacles from the roadway a wayward stone was thrown which struck the Bus Driver in the face, fortunately only causing a minor injury. The only description of the offender at this time is a young male aged between 16 and 20 years. Police would like to speak with anyone with information about this matter or anyone who can provide details of the offender. Police would like to stress that leaving obstacles in roadways, especially on unlit main roads, can cause a great danger to motorists. It is believed this incident is a result of some ‘Tom Foolery’ which could have resulted in being far more serious consequences.
