A short report this week as most of the sports pages will be taken up, quite rightly by the Natwest Island Games, where the men’s and women’s tennis teams have already won Bronze medals in the team event. As promised last week – the results from the June Summer Series competition. 8yrs & under Mixed – round robin – Group A 1st Oliver Wait, 2nd Sam Skelcher-Maxwell. Group B 1st Zac Walker,2nd Saul Parry. Group C 1st Amaline Batty, 2nd Oliver Dean. Group D 1st Odhran Dykes,2nd Archie Caley. Knock-out results: Semi-finals Oliver Wait bt Saul Parry 10/5 Zac Walker bt Sam Skelcher- Maxwell 10/9. Final Oliver bt Zac 2-10,10-5,11-9. 9yrs & under mixed Qtr. Finals -Amelia Garrett bt Louis Peake 4/0,Harry Walters bt Patrick McCord 4/0, Angelo Go bt Teddy Davis 4/1, Luca Simmons by Joshua Mills 4/2. Semi-finals Harry bt Amelia 4/2 and Luca bt Angelo 4/0. Final Harry bt Luca 4/1. Consolation matches semi-finals Josh Mills bt Teddy Davis 4/0,Patrick McCord bt Louis Peake 4/2 Final Patrick bt Joshua 4/2. 10yrs & under r/robin –1st Max Walker 3 wins, 2nd Alex Conti 2 wins. Boys 14 & under r/robin – 1st Calvin Smith, 2nd Adam Pyatt-Coppell. Most improved players were Sam Skelcher-Maxwell and Saul Parry.
