Educators Reminded To Notify Department of Arrangements

by isleofman.com 29th June 2011
Parents of school-age children who are not registered with a Department of Education and Children school are reminded of the requirement to notify the Department of the arrangements they have made for their child’s education. The Education (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2009 places this duty on parents of all school-age children who live in the Isle of Man and are educated at a non-Department school, at home or by a private tutor. Notification must be received via a form. A public notice is being placed in local newspapers next week advertising the requirement. Copies of the form can be downloaded via www.gov.im/lib/docs/education//registrationform.pdf and can be obtained from the Department of Education and Children, Hamilton House, Peel Road, Douglas, IM1 5EZ. Those who have already registered need not do so again unless their child’s circumstances change. All queries should be addressed to Mr John Gill, Head of Legal and Administrative Services, on 01624 685820 or john.gill@gov.im Ends
