The Parish of Malew

The Bishop is pleased to announce the appointment of The Reverend Paul Mothersdale as Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Malew. Paul is presently the Rector of the Benefice of Thornton Dale which is on the southern edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, comprising 5 rural churches and is also the Rural Dean since 2006, of the Deanery of Northern Ryedale. He was born and brought up in Leeds, West Yorkshire whereupon leaving school he joined the Police force, serving in uniform as a Road Traffic Officer, with the Motorway Unit and the Underwater Search Unit before passing on that experience as a Training Officer. Paul was ordained in 1997 serving firstly as Assistant Curate in the Parish of Kirkleatham, Redcar and in 2000 became the Vicar of Easterside an Urban Priority Area Church in Middlesborough leaving in 2005 to his present post. Paul is married to Jackie and has three grown up children. He lists his interests as photography, model and preserved steam railways and cycling. Ends
