Derbyhaven Bay Swim

Record Swim: The 114th annual Derbyhaven Bay Swim took place last week when 29 King William’s College pupils and 4 staff braved the cold to swim from breaker to shore in this half-mile swim. Student, Luke Guthrie (Middle 5) broke the Derbyhaven Bay Swim record with a time of 11 minutes and 8 seconds. The previous record of 11 minutes and 10 seconds was set by Simon Crookall in 1983. Winner of the girls trophy was Ruth Hurst (Lower 5) who came in second with a time of 13 minutes 45 seconds. - Ends -
