by isleofman.com 8th July 2011
Event: Multicultural Day - Festival of Cultures Date: 19 July 2011 Venue: QEII High School A multicultural day entitled Festival of Cultures has been organised by the staff of QEII High School for Year 8 students. This festival, along with a whole school poetry competition and a wiki publication of a poetry anthology, is part of a whole school project on Equality of Opportunity. The tenets behind this festival are to create awareness of other cultures and to promote the idea of equality in diversity among students, very much in tune with the increasingly cosmopolitan nature of the Isle of Man. This year, a strong European dimension is highlighted in the Festival, along with cultures “further a-field”. The following workshops have been organised by staff, along with three guests. A.
