?435 Donated For Team Parish Walk Effort Moore Stephens Isle of Man, leading providers of multi-sector accountancy, consultancy and wealth management services has sponsored ?435 for four members and volunteers of the Search and Rescue Dogs Association (SARDA) who completed the 85 mile Parish Walk. “SARDA would like to say a huge thank you to our staff members and the firm for their generosity”, said Dawn Webb, chairman for SARDA and director for Moore Stephens Isle of Man, “Since SARDA is entirely run on voluntary donations, this is an excellent source of income and all donations are gratefully received.” SARDA Isle of Man is a Manx Registered Charity and is a full member of the National Search and Rescue Dog Association (NSARDA). Searching for missing persons in large areas of land, often at night, can be a slow and difficult undertaking. All of the handlers and navigators are unpaid volunteers and members of the Isle of Man's Emergency Services. SARDA Isle of Man also relies on volunteers in the form “dogs bodies” who act as bodies who hide and wait to be tracked down by the dogs, who are trained since puppies during training sessions. “To complete the Parish Walk is a gruelling undertaking by any standard”, continued Dawn, “The team made up of John Callow, Selwyn Facey, Jim MacGregor and Stuart Mason should be very proud of their combined achievement.” If you would like to know more about volunteering for the charity please contact Jim on 428847 or at j.macgregor@snhs.sch.im.
