Summer Holiday Fun For All With Out2Play Scheme

by isleofman.com 14th July 2011
The Children’s Centre Out2Play scheme has a fun packed summer in store for youngsters across the Island. It all starts on July 25 and continues until the final event on September 5 with events in 14 different locations. As usual, the sessions are run by The Children’s Centre Playworkers supported by volunteers and as well as offering a chance to play it is also a good opportunity to meet new friends. Sessions are open to children aged four to 11. Chris Gregory, Playwork Development Officer at The Children’s Centre, said: “There is something to interest everyone with events right across the Island. I’m sure there will be many who have taken part in Out2Play before who will be joining us again - but we always welcome new children so if you haven’t been before this summer could be your chance to join in the fun.” In 2010 the Out2Play scheme recorded its best ever year with more children than ever before attending play sessions during school holidays. A total of 3,700 children took part in last year’s scheme, an increase of 1,200 on 2009.
