The opening of Artisan, formerly C’est la Vie, in Victoria Street Douglas marks a change in direction for owners Heron and Brearley.
With its decor of muted shades, booth seating, table service, all-day dining and an exclusive selection of premium wines Artisan provides the clearest indication to date of retail director Steven Taylor’s intention ‘to create memorable yet affordable guests experiences’ across the company’s portfolio of managed houses.
Speaking at the launch event Mr Taylor said: ‘We’ve been listening closely to what our customers want and responding with what will be a whole range of affordable options which acknowledge that people expect far more from pubs and bars than just a drink. Delivering consistently high standards of service is at the heart of our new approach and in this, Artisan is a prime example. Its signature style is casual yet sophisticated, with intimate booth seating, mood lighting, all-day food service, daily changing menus, and fine wines and beers available nowhere else in the Island. We’re also keen to play a part in the artistic life of Douglas so will be displaying works by local artists.
‘Service is key now. The hospitality market is changing to meet customers’ more demanding expectations and in response Heron and Brearley is repositioning its managed house business. Artisan represents the start of a new era.’
