What is the Axe Factor?

by isleofman.com 18th July 2011
The IOMTUC is launching an awareness campaign for union members on island and their families, prior to the September 2011 General Election, to stimulate debate on our current and future politicians. It focuses on value for money issues and how worker friendly our current and prospective politicians may be. It will be an online campaign via • Website: www.iomtuc.org.uk • Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Douglas-Isle-of-Man/Iomtuc/213955578628971 • Twitter: @IOMTUC The campaign aims to: • Present information on cost of politicians – and help people decide if candidates are value for money We are deliberately not focusing on individuals – but citing averages. Some politicians cost more than the averages, some less. This aspect is about value for money, appropriateness in the current environment and fairness. • Present information on current politicians’ political records – to help people decide how to vote. We have asked politicians to start the ball rolling and provide us with information for people to form their own judgement on. We would hope other prospective candidates will keep us up to date and provide information also. The campaign does not aim to: • Attack individuals in a personal manner – this is about performance not personality • Tell people how to vote – that’s your choice For more info – check out our links above and follow us. - Ends -
