Healthcare experts, Hidden Hearing, will be providing games and hearing fun at this year’s Southern Agricultural Show, whilst raising funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Taking place 30 to 31 July, the stall will contain a number of fun activities with prizes including a hearing themed quiz to win a luxury hamper and a drawing competition for children with an engaging animal sounds game for a prize. Avril Harvey will be on hand to provide advice on the latest hearing technology and a detailed model ear will be on display to educate attendees on the workings of an ear and how we can protect ourselves from preventable damage.
Furthermore, Hidden Hearing will be raising funds for ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’ by selling cuddly toys and other merchandise. The charity trains dogs to alert deaf people to specific sounds, whether in the home, workplace or public buildings. Hidden Hearing have worked in conjunction with the charity on a number of occasions and continuing with that tradition will be donating ?5 to the charity for every free hearing test taken with them in the month of July in their Onchan clinic.
Avril highlights the benefit of Hearing dogs for Deaf People: “All too often we take
for granted those everyday sounds that let us know we need to take action – from something as simple as the door bell to something as life-saving as a smoke alarm. These dogs make a massive difference to give their owners greater independence, confidence and security and we are delighted to support the charity. If you book an appointment for a free Hearing Consultation you will be helping to fund the expensive training that the dogs go through.”
To book an appointment for a free hearing consultation, phone Avril on 617683 or call into the clinic in Village Walk, Onchan.
