Make The Most of Your Mobile With New Manx Telecom Helpdesk

by isleofman.com 21st July 2011
Have you ever wanted to get some expert advice about making the most of your mobile phone or iPad? Well, now you can talk to Manx Telecom experts at a new Mobile Tech Support helpdesk at the company’s shop in Victoria Street, Douglas. Helpdesk staff will answer queries and give advice on everything from using a basic mobile phone, to iPad or tablet functions, to making the most of internet and email services. The new Mobile Tech Support helpdesk follows on from the success of the Broadband Technical Support Desk - also located in the Victoria Street shop - which has proved to be very popular with customers since it was set up last year. Jason Moffatt, Manx Telecom Network Operations, Business Helpdesk and Services Manager, said the aim was to build on the success of the broadband helpdesk by offering similar support for mobile customers. He said: “Our Broadband Technical Support Desk covers any technical issues customers may be having with their Broadband service - typically this involves advice on routers, laptops, broadband filters, but deals with a wide range of inquiries. We aim to replicate this level of service and support for our mobile customers with the Mobile Helpdesk. The team manning the mobile support desks are also responsible for testing all new devices we launch for sale, so their knowledge and skills on the latest handsets is second to none. They also run a course at the Isle of Man College as part of the Adult Community Education Programme aimed as a Beginners Guide to Mobiles so have lots of skills and experience dealing with novices and are not just geared towards the more technical users.” The Mobile Tech Support helpdesk covers all mobile services including how to use Call Minder, send texts or pictures, retrieve or send e-mails and browse the internet on Manx Telecom’s 3G network. Helpdesk staff are also ready to deal with inquiries from customers using iPads or other tablet devices. In addition, staff can arrange for repairs to be made if required and give advice on which mobile device best suits the needs of customers. The mobile helpdesk will run alongside the Broadband Technical Support Desk and will be staffed from 9am to 5pm Monday to Wednesday; 10am to 5pm on Thursday; and 9am to 5pm on Friday. Of course, 24/7/365 support will still be available by calling Manx Telecom’s round the clock helpdesk on 624 624. - ENDS -
