Local savings bank transforms charity garden Santander’s local savings subsidiary, Alliance & Leicester International provided manpower support to local charity Project 21 spruce up the gardens in their car park. The charity themselves had weeded the areas in question but when it came to shovelling the stones and the heavy lifting the staff from ALIL were more than happy to offer their assistance. Commenting on the support the bank had provided, Beryl Wooldridge from Special Olympics said “We are very grateful to all the staff who gave up their time to complete this project. When we realised how much heavy work was to be involved we didn’t think we would ever complete it, but thanks to the ALIL staff the project was complete in a couple of hours and the gardens look great.” George Campbell, Community Affairs Manager at ALIL added “When Beryl and the team approached us for help the team here at ALIL were more than happy to get involved. We had great fun doing the project and were all delighted with the end result.” ENDS
