There will be no shortage of music and laughter at the Palace Hotel & Casino next month when cabaret stars take to the stage.
The line-up for the Cabaret Night on Saturday, August 6 has been confirmed and it promises to be a fantastic night’s entertainment, with comedians Stu Francis and Andy Leach and singers Kimira and Mike McArdle appearing in the Cushag Suite.
Stu Francis started his showbiz career as a comedian in holiday camps, before appearing in clubs and theatres and eventually television, where he became best-known for children’s favourite ‘Crackerjack’, which he hosted from 1979 to 1984, and his ‘Ooh, I could crush a grape’ catchphrase. Stu also appeared on The Comedians and Live at Her Majesty’s, and appeared in two children’s Royal Command Performances.
Andy Leach’s crazy style of comedy, magic and mayhem has made him a regular on TV shows and at festivals. He appeared on the Royal Variety Show, performing in front of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mike McArdle is an award-winning singer and performer with a vocal versatility that covers various genres, from swing to contemporary pop. He has worked alongside the likes of Van Morrison, Bob Dylan and Jools Holland and has been described by the Evening Standard as ‘cool Vegas with a dynamite edge’.
A young classically-trained vocalist, Kimira won Southport's search for a star when she was only 17 and is now a much sought-after star on the cabaret circuit.
Adrian Brockhouse, Sefton Group Director of Hotels and Leisure, said: ‘The cabaret nights are part of a series of live entertainment at the Palace Hotel & Casino. The diversity of the acts lined up means it will be a great night on August 6.’
The Cabaret Night, which is for over-18s only, gets underway at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at ?15. To make a booking, call 682776.
