The President of Tynwald, the Hon Clare M Christian BSc MLC, has extended her condolences to Mr Dag Terje Andersen, the President of the Norwegian Parliament, the Stortinget, in response to the atrocities committed there. Mrs Christian said: ‘it is with great shock and sadness that we have heard of the bombing and shooting outrages in Oslo. On behalf of Tynwald and the Manx people I wish to convey our concern for your country and extend our condolences to all who have suffered loss in this tragic episode.’ Mr and Mrs Andersen were recently honoured guests during the Tynwald Day celebrations and Mrs Christian commented that their visit has brought home to us in a very immediate and personal way the impact these traumatic incidents have had. -ends-
