Manx Telecom’s stand proved to be a big hit at the Southern District Agricultural Show - and those who missed out on the fun and games have a second chance to join in at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show. Visitors to the Manx Telecom stand can win a JCB rugged mobile phone - just one of many prizes on offer. To show how tough the JCB phones are, visitors can take part in a ‘tin can alley’ style competition in which they try and knock down a pile of foam bricks by throwing a JCB Sitemaster mobile phone at them. Knock down the bricks and you can win prizes including drink bottles, Frisbees and bouncy balls - and yellow builder’s hats which proved to be very popular with children at the Southern Show. There will also be a prize draw to win either a JCB Sitemaster (not the one used in the tin can alley competition!) or a JCB Tradesman which is equally tough and can float on water.
As Manx Telecom is one of the official sponsors of the Commonwealth Youth Games 2011 - which the Isle of Man will host in September - Games mascot Tosha the Manx Cat will make a guest appearance on the stand so that youngsters can have their photo taken with him.
The Manx Telecom Summer of Love van is also going to be at the Royal Manx Show - the Summer of Love promotion is giving away 100s of prizes including concert tickets and holidays. Prizes already won include a Steam Packet weekend break in Chester, Shoprite BBQ sets and a ?60 food voucher, a chance to meet The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, and tickets to see N-Dubz. Upcoming Summer of Love prize promotions are to win a chance to feed the meerkats at Curraghs Wildlife Park. It’s a great prize for kids and includes having a photo taken with the meerkats, a certificate, and a meerkat soft toy to take away as a memento of the day (entry to this promotion runs from August 12 to August 18). Later in August there’s a chance to win a relaxation day at the Palace Hotel and a Steam Packet holiday for one winner and 10 of their friends. If you need details of how to enter just go to the Summer of Love van or find the details online at www.summeroflove.im
As in previous years at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show, Manx Telecom will be providing free WiFi on the showfield and staff will also be on hand to answer any queries customers have about products and services. The show is at Knockaloe Farm, Patrick, on 12 and 13 August.
