Special buses will operate on Saturday (13 August) between Douglas, Ramsey, Peel, St John’s and Knockaloe to take people to the Royal Agricultural Show.
An extra Service 7A will run every half hour between St John’s and Patrick and includes two direct buses from Douglas departing Shelter A in Lord Street at 9.45am and 11am, with direct return journeys from Knockaloe at 4.10pm and 5.55pm. The adult fare from Douglas to Patrick is ?2.50 one way or ?4.50 return. Through fares are available from Ramsey, Douglas and Peel even when passengers need to change bus at St John’s.
Introduction of the extra Service 7A follows discussions between Bus Vannin staff and both the Show organisers and the police. Hopefully, visitors to the Show will take the opportunity to use the extra bus services, reducing the potential traffic congestion at the new Show location.
Throughout the day people will be able to pick up the Service 4 and 7A at St John’s with most buses departing from the stone shelter opposite the Tynwald Hill Inn. Exceptions are the 10.10am and 11.25am direct services from Douglas that will depart St John’s from the layby beside the Bunscoill. All journeys serve the shelter beside the new primary school on Station Road in St John’s.
The full Royal Show special timetable can be found on Bus Vannin’s website: www.iombusandrail.com under the noticeboard.
