Rossborough Insurance Forms New Marine & Aviation Department

by isleofman.com 9th August 2011
Insurance broker Rossborough Insurance (IoM) has announced the formation of a new Marine and Aviation Department for the Isle of Man. While Rossborough has been providing insurance in these areas for some time, the latest move reflects the increased importance that the company has chosen to place on these services. The new department is being headed up by Richard Hulme, who joined the company in March. Richard commented on the formation of the department: “Rossborough already has a deservedly strong reputation for professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’ liability and commercial property solutions, among many other forms of cover. Our new focus on yachts and aircraft is designed to complement those existing services by ensuring that both Corporate/Trust Service Providers and high net worth individuals can come to us to receive a truly comprehensive solution, which will cover all of their various liabilities and asset classes.” Richard continued: “While we are placing a new focus on these services, it is also important to note that we aren’t new to providing them. Our contacts and terms of business in this area are already well established and we have the experience necessary to tailor bespoke solutions for each client’s needs.” Managing Director Tim Rattray also commented on the move: “The Isle of Man has developed a superb international reputation for both its ship and aircraft registries, and we are responding to the resulting need for a strong local insurance offering. While we intend to grow this side of our business, we want to do so steadily and responsibly. We don’t want to win a lot of new business only for our service levels to drop because it isn’t sustainable. Personal, responsive service is our primary goal.” Since its acquisition by the Giles Group in 2010, Rossborough has been leveraging the increased access to wider markets in order to make itself even more competitive in the Manx marketplace. However, the staff insist that they have remained dedicated to a local, personal service. Richard commented: “The ability to work out all of your insurance needs with somebody local and pick a plan suited to your situation is relevant to every kind of cover Rossborough provides. However, it is even more applicable when dealing with Corporate/Trust Service Providers and high net worth individuals. We offer the opportunity to deal face to face – to sit down and work out everything you need there and then, while still offering the advantages of a nation-wide group of insurers in terms of scope and purchasing power.” - Ends -
