Sponsored Abseil

by isleofman.com 10th August 2011
Leonard Cheshire Disability are offering the opportunity for you to take part in a 100ft cliff abseil on Saturday 10th September. Have you got what it takes to stand at the top of a 100ft cliff – and then step backwards into the abyss? If you’re up for an exciting challenge, the thrill of a lifetime and the opportunity to conquer your fears, all in aid of a good cause, then come and have a go at our abseil challenge. The event will take place at the Venture Centre at 2pm on Saturday 10th September. Full training and safety equipment are provided. The session will begin with practice at the on-site training wall to build your confidence, before moving on to take the plunge over the 100ft cliff face to the beach below. There is a ?15 registration fee and all we ask is for you to raise a minimum sponsorship of ?50. Funds raised from this event will be used to support a group of young, physically disabled people from Kendal to visit the Isle of Man, staying at the Joey Dunlop Foundation Lodge at Braddan. To register your interest and for further information please contact David Wood at Leonard Cheshire Disability in Onchan. email: david.wood@LCDisability.org Ends
