To accommodate popular demand for tickets to see the Commonwealth Youth Games swimming events at the NSC, a new temporary stand is to be erected.
Tickets for this new section are on sale now.
Events take place from 9th to 11th September, with tickets priced ?6 (from 9am) for morning events and ?10 (from 5.30pm) for evening events.
David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure said, “I am delighted that the Commonwealth Youth Games are proving so popular, particularly in bringing so many people to the Island. With just a month to go until the Games begin, I encourage everyone in the Island to get behind Team Isle of Man as they compete against the best young athletes in the Commonwealth. Tickets are selling fast, so if you want to guarantee your seat at our Games, book you tickets now!”
Tickets for all other events are selling well.
The Gymnastics (9-11 Sept) events are now sold out and there are a limited number left for the Badminton events (9-11 Sept, tickets ?10).
There are only a limited number of tickets in the NSC grandstand (?10) for the athletics events. However, there is a large allocation in the open stands with tickets priced at just ?6.
Rugby 7’s is often the launch pad for future internationals, as Manu Tuilagi can testify having started his international career as a youth sevens player for England and receiving his first full international cap last weekend against Wales. The sevens tournament features some of the best young players in the world with teams representing: England, Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Canada, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago and of course Team Isle of Man. Matches take place at the newly refurbished Bowl Stadium on Sat 10 and Sun 11 September. Tickets are ?10 for a covered seat and ?6 for uncovered.
The Boxing events at the Villa Marina also promise to be an exciting few days of competition from 8 to 11 September. Tickets are ?10.
