by isleofman.com 12th August 2011
Celton Manx is delighted to announce its sponsorship of Castletown Cricket Club. The Club which has three senior teams, four junior teams and a fledgling ladies team is one of the most well-known and successful clubs on the Island. The Club holds its practices and matches at the nearby King William’s College and were delighted to start the season with a new sponsor. Chairman of Castletown Cricket Club, Stephen Eppleston, stated: ‘The committee, members and players of Castletown are extremely pleased to have been successful in attracting a club sponsor of the magnitude of Celton Manx Limited. We are aware that the company is keen to support local sports and we see this as an endorsement of both our success on the pitch last year and the thriving youth set-up within the club. We had several of our youth players performing at Island representative levels last year, with Seb Aycock actually playing for the full Island team, whilst still an under 15 player.’ Bill Mummery, Executive Director of Celton Manx said: ‘We are delighted to become the main sponsor of the successful Castletown Cricket Clubs. We are dedicated to supporting local sporting clubs and initiatives and the CCC shares our values of promoting sport to children and young people in our community. I am very much looking forward to seeing the team play and wish them the very best for a successful year.’ Mr Eppleston continued: ‘We are hopeful that we can continue with the performances on the field this year and that we will continue to develop as a club. This season we are planning to form a ladies team, we are again entered in the Lancashire Cup and have a team taking part in the Entrecasteaux Sevens tournament in the south of France at the end of the season. ‘We are extremely grateful to Celton Manx for agreeing to sponsor the club this season and we look forward to continuing our relationship in the future.’ ENDS
