Hospice Set To Benefit from Two RBS International Fundraising Events

by isleofman.com 15th August 2011
RBS International has raised over ?2,600 for Hospice Isle of Man after hosting two rooftop events at Royal Bank House in Victoria Street during TT fortnight. Bank employees were invited to a barbeque event and their generous donations raised ?2,000 for the charity. The Corporate Banking team also invited guests to enjoy the Red Arrows’ display over Douglas Bay on 7th June. Customers were invited to enter a draw to win a handcrafted model of a Red Arrows plane raising a further ?657. Bill Shimmins, Island Director for RBS International, commented: “RBS International staff were particularly keen to support the Hospice in memory of a former colleague Carol Kirby who recently passed away and was cared for by the Hospice. The Hospice touches many Islanders’ lives and we are pleased that this donation will support the first-rate service the Hospice provides. I would like to express thanks to all RBS International staff and customers who have helped such a worthy cause.” Mary Doyle, PR and Marketing Manager for Hospice, added: “On behalf of Hospice Isle of Man I would like to thank everyone that raised this fantastic amount. Donations, such as this, allow us to continue to provide palliative care to patients and their families on the Island at a crucial time.” ENDS
