2 Males arrested in connection with heroin seizure. On Wednesday 17th August 2011 two males were arrested in the Castletown area in connection with alleged drugs offences. A quantity of what is believed to be the class A controlled drug has been seized with a isle of man street value of ‘?28, 000.00. A 35year old man from the Liverpool area has been charged with producing the drug to the island and will appear in Court at 10am on Saturday morning. A 41 year old male from the south of the island remains under arrest and is assisting police with enquires. Detective Inspector MADDOCKS stated “ A seizure such as this is significant and will reduce the potential harm caused to the islands population. The Isle of Man Constabulary are committed to keeping the people of the island safe and anyone involved in criminal activity will be dealt with appropriately. If found guilty, the Court have previously handed down significant sentences to people involved in the importation and supply of controlled drugs.” Ends
