Port Erin Police are investigating an act of criminal damage which occurred at around 5am on Sunday 21st August 2011. The damage relates to two boats which were in the water within the harbour at Port Erin which have had black paint thrown over them.
At this time four young males were seen tampering with the boats and removing items from them; these items were later recovered from the shore after having been thrown into the sea.
The males are described as two dressed all in black, one wearing a blue, possibly denim jacket, and the other with a grey top. Police were called to the scene but the males managed to flee prior to their arrival.
Police noted footprints within the paint on the boats so it is highly likely that the persons responsible will have paint present on their footwear, and possibly their clothing.
If anyone has any information whatsoever in relation to this incident, they are urged to contact Police Constable Lee Wright at Port Erin Police Station on 832222, via email to lee.wright@gov.im, or alternatively give their information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
