The Children’s Centre is appealing for entrepreneurs to put their skills to good use in support of the ‘Fifty Quid Think Big Challenge’. The fundraising campaign involves corporate teams or individuals being given ?50 ‘seed money’ and asked to ‘grow’ this money - in any way that is legal and ethical - over a six-week period. Paragon Recruitment is again generously supporting the Think Big Challenge - which runs from September 12 to October 21 - by providing the seed money to start off the fundraisers. All proceeds raised from the event go to support The Children’s Centre’s projects Out2Play, Mobex, Child Contact Centre and Philip Christian Centre. Jo Wood, Director, Paragon Recruitment, said: “Last year we saw the launch of the Think Big project and we were delighted with the positive impact it had across a wide range of companies. Paragon Recruitment is proud to sponsor this exciting initiative again. It’s a worthy cause and gives companies an ideal platform to ‘show off’ their effective team work, entrepreneurial skills and competitive streaks. We can’t wait to see the ideas generated and put into practice and we hope that all the teams have plenty of fun along the way.” Last year's winning team, Standard Bank, raised more than ?2,000 for The Children's Centre. Sonia Edwards, Standard Bank, said: “The Fifty Quid Think Big Challenge was a real highlight for us last year and winning was a great reward for the hard work we put into organising fundraising activities starting with just ?50. Being involved in this initiative generates a real buzz around the office and to anyone considering getting involved this year I would say ‘don’t hesitate’. This is a fantastic opportunity to work together outside of the office and provides plenty of ways to get creative, stretch individual’s skills and have some fun while raising vital funds for a local charity which really does do so much for families in the Isle of Man. The rewards are plentiful for all involved.” Last year 10 teams took part in the Fifty Quid Think Big Challenge raising a total of ?6,000. Michelle O’Malley, Fundraising Manager for The Children’s Centre, said the aim was to exceed that total this year. She added that The Children’s Centre’s fundraising team will support teams and individuals for the duration of the challenge, providing a wealth of resources, handy tips and advice. Once the challenge has come to an end the team or individual which raises the most money will be crowned the Fifty Quid Think Big Challenge Champion with another prize being available for the Most Creative Idea. As well as ?50 seed money, entrants to the challenge will receive an information pack with lots of useful advice.
