Sleepwell Renew ‘End2End’ Race Sponsorship for the 8th Consecutive Year

The End2End race, set to take place Sunday 18th September will once again be sponsored by Sleepwell Hotels. As part of their sponsorship, The Claremont Hotel’s Coast Restaurant will also prepare a gala buffet for the presentation evening to be held at the Villa Marina following the event. This year is set to be the biggest yet with a record number of entries, 1700 and counting! The growth over recent years has been staggering with cyclists from across the world travelling to the Island to partake. The race is fast becoming one of Europe’s major cycling events with some labeling it ‘the highlight of the mountain biking calendar’. The course which runs from the Point of Ayre to the Calf of Man is distinguished for its picturesque landscape and challenging terrain. Sleepwell Hotels are accommodating many of the competitors at their three hotels situated on Douglas Promenade. Mark Wilson, Managing Director of Sleepwell Hotels commented: “The ‘End to End’ has grown to be such fantastic sporting spectacle and is a real testimony to the Isle of Man’s popularity for cycling and also the incredibly hard work of the organising team. We are delighted to continue our sponsorship with another major event that is so beneficial to the Island’s profile and hospitality industry. With the recent ?1million investment into our luxury hotel rooms at The Claremont, we hope that the cyclists will be well-rested and ready to tackle the course.” Sleepwell hotels will also present this year one of the competitors with a pair of tickets to the UCI World Cup Track Cycling event kindly donated by Lloyds Banking Group. The event is a test event for the Olympics and is scheduled to take place at the Velodrome at Olympic Park on 17 - 19 February 2012. Sleepwell Hotels have also donated a ?1000 Silver Plated, 21 inch Trophy to be presented each year to the overall event winner. Race ‘sign on’ and Registration takes place at The Claremont Hotel on Friday 15t September, 5pm - 8pm for local riders and the again on Saturday afternoon 17th September from 2pm, for all other competitors, the race itself taking place on Sunday 18th September. http://www.sleepwellhotels.com/hotels/isle_of_man/claremont/index.htm ENDS
