New Development Manager at The Children’s Centre

by isleofman.com 30th August 2011
Juana Warburton, Human Resources Manager at The Children’s Centre, has been appointed as the charity’s new Development Manager. She joined The Children’s Centre in 2007 as Human Resources Specialist and prior to that worked as an HR Consultant and was contracted to the Isle of Man Department of Trade and Industry (which is now the Department of Economic Development) as an Investors In People Consultant. This experience was useful in her role at The Children’s Centre where Juana has been instrumental in the charity achieving 83rd place in The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies To Work For list in 2010, and sixth place in The Sunday Times 100 Best Places To Work In The Public And Charity Sectors list in 2011. Juana studied Latin and Greek at Leeds University and worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland for 18 years in the UK and the Isle of Man and has lived and worked on the Island since 1993. Juana said she was looking forward to taking up her new role and added: “The role of Development Manager is two fold. There’s the development of the charity and its structures, and fundraising which is becoming more and more of a challenge for all charities in the current economic climate. In both of these areas we need to be creative and flexible to meet the challenges that lie ahead, and achieving this will be my main focus in the months ahead.” Juana takes over the role as Development Manager from Rebecca McSevney.
