Busy Summer for Manx2.com

by isleofman.com 31st August 2011
Manx2.com will round off a busy summer season with another press visit in September – this time involving a group of journalists from north-west England. They will be flown to Isle of Man Airport from Blackpool and will spend the day being shown the Island’s beauty spots and places of interest, as well as stopping for food along the way. The visit follows several others Manx2.com has arranged alongside Isle of Man Tourism. In August, Manx2.com flew a group of journalists from the Gloucestershire area and prior to that, it welcomed a journalist from the Daily Post based in Anglesey who later wrote a glowing review of the Island. The Manx2.com team has also attended some of the largest shows in England and Wales - Three Counties Show in Malvern, Great Yorkshire Show, Royal Welsh Agricultural Show and the Anglesey Show - where they spoke to thousands of people about the Isle of Man and how quick and easy it is to get here. As usual, Manx2.com also attended the Southern and Royal Agricultural Shows in the Isle of Man. Chairman Noel Hayes said: ‘The visitor economy is crucial to the island’s future so we work very hard throughout the year to promote the Isle of Man, alongside the team from Department of Economic Development who we work closely with at the off-Island shows. The shows we attended have a combined footfall of well over 1 million people, most of whom will see the Isle of Man and Manx2.com branded unit. Those we speak to show a great interest in the Island and many of these people go on to book flights to come here. ‘We also see great results from the incoming press visits we organise. In addition to being a way of familiarising them with the Island, many go on to write great articles about their visit, which is of benefit to us and tourism in general.’ Geoff Corkish MBE MHK, Political Member for Isle of Man Tourism said: ‘The large shows which take place across the UK offer superb opportunities to talk to people about the Isle of Man, in a bid to tempt first time visitors and those who have been before. Manx2.com has a great team who always show great enthusiasm in promoting the Isle of Man.’ To follow Manx2.com on twitter: http://twitter.com/FlyManx2 And on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/FlyManx2 ENDS
