The Isle of Man Business Centre was the venue for an event to mark the appointment of a new tax partner at leading local accountancy firm PwC
Invited guests, including key clients and contacts of the firm in the IoM, enjoyed an informal gathering with drinks and canapes.
The new partner is Kevin Cowley. Kevin was born and raised in the IoM, completing his schooling here before studying at University in the UK. He returned to the IoM to undertake his chartered accountancy qualification before specializing in tax and subsequently qualifying as a Chartered Tax Advisor in 2000.
He joined PwC initially in London before returning to the IoM to focus on developing the IoM tax practice. Over the course of his career he has advised on many areas of taxation with a particular emphasis on the structuring of offshore funds and real estate transactions.
Introducing Kevin to guests at the Business Centre, Senior Partner Ian Clague said: “Kevin’s admission to the partnership of PwC in the Isle of Man demonstrates the growth and success of the tax practice in recent years. It confirms our confidence in the Isle of Man and in the potential for the future development of our delivery of tax services. It’s satisfying to see a talented individual like Kevin fulfilling their potential.”
In his response, Kevin confirmed the sense of pride he felt in developing such a talented tax team over the last three years. “I’m a great believer in taking time out to celebrate success,” he commented. “However, this evening is as much about marking the start of the next phase of our development as celebrating our progress to date. I hope that my appointment is recognised in the local market place as a serious sign of our intent.”
