Recycle Bin Fires in Peel

Police in Peel are appealing for information after a Recycle Paper Bin was deliberately set alight sometime between Sunday evening (4th Sept 2011) and the early hours of Monday morning (5th Sept 2011). The Fire Service were alerted to the blaze shortly before 1.30am on Monday morning (5th Sept 2011). As a result of the fire one recycle bin was completely destroyed and three others were badly fire damaged. Also a nearby vehicle was also caught by the flames and damaged. Initial Police enquiries have revealed that a fire to the bins was attempted sometime around 7pm on Sunday evening (4th Sept 2011), this was extinguished by a passing member of the public. Whoever is responsible is believed to have returned and re-started the fire sometime after 10pm. The fire has caused a considerable amount of damage that will be very costly to repair and replace. Police are eager to speak with anyone who has any information that will assist bringing the person or persons responsible for this crime to justice.
