Manx.net, one of the Island’s most popular websites, has a new look and additional features in its Classifieds section. It’s all part of Manx Telecom’s continued investment in digital technology and the enhancements to Manx.net aim to improve the experience for the thousands of visitors who use the site every day.
The Classifieds section has become a popular way to turn unwanted items into cash or to pick up a bargain, with hundreds of adverts posted every day. Now users can upload photos of items they want to sell so that thousands of potential buyers can see what’s for sale. Data from Google Analytics show 10,537,666 visitor sessions and 44,282,965 page views for Manx.net in the past 12 months. There are 30,000 registered manx.net email accounts and the Classifieds section is the most popular on the website.
It only takes a few minutes to create a manx.net email or Classifieds account and, says Graham Shimmin, Manx Telecom Products Manager, the user friendly nature of the site is a key to its popularity. He said:
“The changes to the site are all about improving the experience for the thousands of people who use Manx.net. Simple changes such as enabling users to add photos to Classified ads make a big difference to the experience people have. We’ve also created more advertising space for local businesses to benefit from the high volume of local traffic. Tighter integration of directory.im also makes quickly finding local businesses easier, with a mobile app of the online directory available early next year.
The site still boasts Manx.net TV which pulls together the best Isle of Man news, entertainment and music videos in one place. With the vast majority of Manx Telecom’s customers now taking advantage of faster broadband speeds, Manx.net TV demonstrates the fantastic video quality that’s available over the internet.
