Open Day at Smeale Farm

Smeale Farm, on the coast road between the Lhen and Bride (signposted from Andreas roundabout) Sunday 11th September 11-5pm Open farm day on a traditional sheep and cereal farm in the north of the Island with the focus on milling wheat and apples. Free admission! Laxey Glen Mills and wheat growers wives and friends will be baking throughout the day showing what can be made with their 15 types of wonderful Manx flour. Enjoy fantastic Apple Orphanage juice and try your hand at apple pressing in the orchard. Find out about bees and honey production with Alfie. Get creative with wheat and apple art! Wildlife walks through the 8 acre farm nature conservation area every hour from 11.30am to 2.30pm. Talks about the traditional farm buildings at 1pm and 3pm with MNH. Meet the sheep and lambs. Tuck in to a hog roast, burgers, etc. The fun will continue whatever the weather so bring your wellies! Admission FREE ENDS
