A Year of Digital At The Broadway Cinema

by isleofman.com 9th September 2011
One year, 13 3D feature films, 24 HD feature films and over 40,000 admissions since the installation of state of the art digital equipment at the Broadway Cinema, and the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is delighted to confirm exciting developments are in store at the Broadway Cinema in the upcoming year. Hon. David Cretney, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure said, “With the runaway success of TT3D, the popularity of 3D films and the development of innovative scheduling to give customers as many of the latest features as possible, the Broadway Cinema has had a fantastic year. Considering the developments in store, the year ahead is promising to be equally exciting for the Broadway Cinema.” The Department has received confirmation that the latest instalment of the Twilight saga – Breaking Dawn part 1 – will be coming to the Broadway Cinema, as will The Three Musketeers 3D. Ticket on sale dates will be announced soon. To further improve the 3D experience, the Broadway Cinema has upgraded its glasses to the latest model – providing better viewing sharpness, whilst being even more cost effective than the current glasses. Perhaps the most exciting news is that the Broadway Cinema has been granted permission to install equipment that will make it the only venue in the Isle of Man capable of streaming live events such as concerts, opera and major sporting events in stunning 3D. The launch date is still to be confirmed, but be the first to find out by following us on Twitter, liking our Facebook page, sign up for the e-Newsletter or visiting www.villagaiety.com. As well as being a hit with customers, the new digital projector is also the primary projector for presentations and conferences at the Broadway Cinema. This means our clients are able to utilise the most advanced digital projector on the Island and play their presentations in full cinema high definition. This coupled with a state of the art touch controlled conferencing system makes the Broadway Cinema the Island’s premier business presentation facility.
