Laser Blast Boosts Charity Funds

by isleofman.com 12th September 2011
Several teams from Appleby, Auldyn School, KPMG, Shoprite and Simcocks locked and loaded their guns at Laser Blast on Saturday 10th September 2011 to raise funds for the local charity Crossroads Caring for Carers Isle of Man. Crossroads Laser Blast Charity Team Challenge saw the reining Champions Shoprite take home the trophy for another year, having beaten Appleby at a close second and KMPG third in the leader board. The evening raised ?550.00 for the local Carers’ charity, which will see the funds raised spent directly on care and support services for family and informal Carers and those they look after on the Isle of Man. Crossroads’ Fundraising Events Co-ordinator, Alex Wilson, said: “Thank you to all the teams who took part and to Alan and Andrew at Laser Blast. Without the support of the local community, Crossroads would not be able to continue to care and we hope to see the runners up come back to take the lead next year”. Crossroads provides whole family support for anyone looking after a family member, friend or neighbour with an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse problem. For more information about the charity or to support forthcoming fundraising events, please contact Alex Wilson on 673103 or email awilson@crossroadsiom.org. ENDS
