New-Look Palace Cinema To Open September 19

by isleofman.com 14th September 2011
The newly refurbished Palace Cinema will open its doors to movie fans next Monday, 19th September. Both auditoriums have had new ‘comfort-seats’ fitted along with new easy-clean carpet and vinyl, and overall capacity has been reduced to provide more space per customer. Lined up to welcome filmgoers back to the Palace are ‘The Inbetweeners Movie’ in Screen One and ‘Cowboys & Aliens’ in Screen Two. The Cinema closed earlier this month to allow for the refurbishment to take place. Adrian Brockhouse, Sefton Group Director of Hotels and Leisure, said: ‘Closing the complex for a fortnight has allowed us to complete the project quickly and efficiently. ‘We have been planning a major refurbishment for some months, but closing for a refit during the May to August period, traditionally our busiest months, would not have been popular and led us to hold over the project. However, we believe the overall impact of better seating, flooring and decor has been worth the wait and will enhance the cinema experience for our customers.’ The new Palace Cinema website will go live to coincide with the reopening, offering customers a more user-friendly online experience and a more streamlined booking system. The new facilities come on the back of a significant investment in the Palace Cinema by Sefton Group plc last year, when new digital projectors were installed, offering an improved viewing experience and the ability to show 3D movies. In addition, the Palace Cinema is looking forward to future opportunities with companies and organisations, utilising the theatres for conferences, meetings and seminars. ENDS
