Chief Minister Praise for Commonwealth Youth Games

by isleofman.com 15th September 2011
Chief Minister Tony Brown has thanked the organisers and supporters of the Commonwealth Youth Games – and the people of the Isle of Man – for making the event such a success. ‘Our Island can be very proud of the way that it rose to the challenge of being the first small nation to host the Commonwealth Youth Games’, said Mr Brown. ‘The organisers and volunteers who worked so heroically to make the Games a winning event all deserve gold medals of their own. But praise is due too for the people of the Island, for the warm welcome they extended to these young athletes from all over the Commonwealth. The friendly reception from the whole community really contributed to the spirit of the Games and helped to make it a truly memorable occasion for all concerned.’ ENDS
