Isle of Man business Leaders Set To Stage Topical Presentation

by isleofman.com 22nd September 2011
The importance of finding and exploiting new market opportunities is set to be examined by Isle of Man business leaders at a special presentation. Leading global fiduciary services provider The ILS Group is sponsoring next month’s Isle of Man Junior Chamber of Commerce event entitled ‘Survival Tactics: Taking the Manx Message to the World’. The presentation will be held at the Sefton Hotel in Douglas on Thursday 6th October at 6pm. ILS has arranged for some impressive speakers to join its Chief Executive Officer Chris Eaton in the line-up of presenters, including serial entrepreneur, director and part owner of Bladon Jets Courtenay Heading, Isle of Man Government Specialist Advisor John Spellman and Director of the Business Development Agency for the Isle of Man Government Tim Craine. The event will examine the need for the financial services industry to market its services further afield, along with the importance of bringing new business into the Island. It will also discuss the Government country strategy and the framework the Department of Economic Development has put in place to support the strategy. Chris Eaton said: “Nothing is more important for any enterprise than to find and exploit new market opportunities. Even when business is robust, there is always the need to hunt for new turf, to guard against a possible time when a strong product or service could become static or declining. Skill in finding new market opportunities is the lifeblood of business worldwide. “This event is extremely topical in light of the upcoming event ILS, the Isle of Man Government and Capital International will be staging in China to promote the Manx message. I am looking forward to this event and we are delighted to have secured speakers of such experience.” Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for questions and answers, followed by a buffet and networking opportunity. Admission is ?12 to members and ?15 to non-members. For further information contact events@jcc.im The event is perfectly timed with the Isle of Man’s offering as a well respected international business centre set to be showcased in Asia next month. The ILS Group, in partnership with the Department of Economic Development and offshore investment services provider Capital International, will promote the Island's reputation as an established platform for business success and prosperity at an exclusive event within the China Offshore Summit in Shanghai, China, on October 26 and 27. The three strong local brands will join forces to showcase their services in the special half-day event entitled “The International Tool Kit: Achieve your wealth management goals through international offshore structures and investments”, which will be held on the first afternoon of the two-day summit in a private conference room just outside of the main exhibition area. The exclusive seminar will address the benefits of using a global fiduciary services provider, effective investment management, offshore fund structures, Isle of Man case studies and solutions to help high net worth individuals achieve their wealth management goals through international offshore structures and investments and linking these case study solutions to China. The ILS Group is a gold sponsor at the China Offshore Summit which will be attended by more than 300 Chinese professionals, entrepreneurs and financial intermediaries, with the Isle of Man Government sponsoring the bronze package and Capital International taking the tea and coffee break sponsorship. Following the Summit, The ILS Group and Department of Economic Development will further take the Manx message to Asia by exhibiting at the prestigious Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Asia conference in Singapore on November 1 and 2.
