To mark its 33rd anniversary this year B&B Furniture has bought 33 tickets for Age Concern’s prize draw to win an Alfa Romeo.
B&B’s Mark Cannell said: ‘33 is a significant number for the company this year. It was September 33 years ago when B&B Furniture was formed and we have 33 members of staff, so it seemed only right we should buy 33 tickets to support Age Concern’s prize draw.
The ‘Alfa Adventure’, fronted by former car trader turned TV presenter Mike Brewer from Channel 4’s Driven and Deals on Wheels, sees Age Concern Isle of Man joining forces with the Corkills Motor Group to offer the opportunity to win a red Alfa Romeo MiTo 1.4 16v Junior in a prize draw.
The charity’s chief executive George Quayle said: ‘We’re delighted to be sharing in the 33rd birthday celebrations of B&B Furniture, a much respected local company that, in its own way, is equally committed to providing a quality service as Age Concern. Normally you would associate birthday celebrations with cakes and candles…in this case it’s more about camshafts and carburettors.’
Tickets, priced ?5 each, are on sale at Age Concern’s Drinkwater Street headquarters and its shops in Ramsey and Port Erin, branches of Spar, Extreme Art and Gadgets, the Manx Legion Club, Tracey Bell’s SuperClinic and Carrefour health club in Douglas, and Celtic Gold in Peel.
The draw will take place at Age Concern’s AGM on December 2 at the Empress Hotel when one lucky winner will become the owner of Alfa Romeo’s super-stylish supermini, the MiTo. (‘MiTo’ stands for ‘Milan’ where the car was designed and ‘Torino’ - Turin - where it is built).
