The Golden Jubilee Trust

by isleofman.com 28th September 2011
The Golden Jubilee Trust held their annual Autumn Challenge at Ardwhallan Outdoor Education Centre, West Baldwin on Sunday 25th September 2011, which this year had a Viking theme. In deteriorating weather conditions, fifty-four people in six teams of young people, police officers, youth and community workers, teachers and commissioners/councillors representing the North, South, West and Douglas undertook a series of five challenges involving navigation, archery, climbing, boatmanship, team work and physical skill. The events were led by Head of Outdoor Centres Paul Melling, Jenny Lantry and Ardwhallan’s team of trainee instructors. In a close run final the winning team was West 2 comprising Susie Livingstone, Tracy Jones, Aalish Watson, Matthew Moffatt, Aalish Faragher, Caitlin Faragher, Chloe Jones, Liam Lewis, Patrick Bailey and Tony Leonard. Prizes were presented by David Trace, Chairman of the Golden Jubilee Trust, following a barbeque at the conclusion of the competition. The Golden Jubilee Trust would particularly like to thank Total (IOM Ltd) and Andy Sweetman for their sponsorship. ENDS
