Elections To The House of Keys

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2011
The Bishop of Sodor and Man (who occupies the only office in Tynwald that has been part of our Parliament since it began) today welcomed those elected to the House of Keys for the next quinquennium. He said, "On behalf of the Churches of the Island, we look to you to work together with integrity in order that all who live here, particularly those who are vulnerable, and all elsewhere affected by our actions will flourish. The wisdom and compassion of God be with you." He has asked those who lead worship on Sunday to pray: Guide, Lord, we pray, all whom we have elected to the House of Keys, that, with their colleagues in the Legislative Council, they may have clear discernment and a desire for the common good; give them integrity of word and action that they may uphold justice, truth and peace; to the honour of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Ends
