Celebrating 40th Anniversaries Together

by isleofman.com 3rd October 2011
Greeba Farm Ltd. celebrated the 40th anniversary of Manx mushroom production with local couple Peter and Andrea Lawler who have spent 40 years together as a married couple. The couple were found following an appeal on Manx Radio by Kathy Irwin of Greeba Farm for anyone on the island also celebrating a special 40th moment. A stunning celebration cake, made to celebratory chef James Martin’s recipe, was shared with visitors to The Manx Mushroom Experience tent, at the recent Isle of Man Food & Drink Festival. Peter and Andrea joined staff from Greeba Farm at the Festival and have been presented with a ?40 gift voucher, kindly donated by The Courthouse restaurant and bar in Douglas, a key user of Manx grown mushrooms in its menu. Andrea said: “It was a lovely way to remember our special wedding anniversary and we really wish Greeba Farm the best of luck”. Kathy Irwin of Greeba Farm Ltd. added: “We wanted to share our 40th celebration and this was a perfect way to do it with the local community. As a Manx food producer it is good to pause and remember that without local people buying and enjoying our products we would have nothing to party about.” ENDS
