New Manx Telecom Brand Hits the Streets

by isleofman.com 4th October 2011
Manx Telecom is to kick off October with a clutch of new initiatives which will see the company taking a higher profile and offering more to its customers. “It’s going to be a big month for us,” says David Smith, Director of Marketing at Manx Telecom, “October will see the debut of our new brand, the opening of our new store in Strand Street; the launch of the Island’s fastest ever broadband service; plus we’re making a price match promise on our entire range of mobile phones.” Manx Telecom’s new-look brand is the result of a six month project to revitalise how the company presents itself and the results will make their first appearance in Manx Telecom’s advertising, website, vans, and signage, beginning in October. “Every company needs to keep its brand image up to date,” says David Smith, “and we think there’s lots to like about our new brand, not the least of which is the fact that it’s rooted in the Isle of Man; from the choice of photography, to the use of colours that are so representative of the Island, to the choice of Christy DeHaven as the voice of our brand.” The new brand is a key part of the company’s new flagship store in Strand Street, which will open its doors on October 12th. Manx Telecom has spent ?500,000 on the new store, which will replace the company’s existing outlets in Douglas, and which it claims is set to become a landmark shopping destination for the Island. “We love the new store, and think our customers will too,” says David Smith, “We’ve got something for everyone: ‘early adopters’ will be able to get their hands on the widest range of latest Smartphones and gadgets, and customers looking for expert advice and guidance will appreciate our new “Techbench” area.” In the online world, October also sees the launch of Ultima, Manx Telecom’s premium broadband service. The biggest development in broadband technology on the Island for some time; Ultima offers download speeds of up to 40Mbit/s and upload speeds of up to 2Mbit/s; up to three times faster than even the current top broadband speeds of 16Mbit/s and 832Kb/s. “We think that Ultima demonstrates all that’s best about Manx Telecom. A great product only made possible by our massive investment in the Island's telecommunications infrastructure, and something which puts our customers in the fast lane when it comes to broadband speeds.” says David Smith. Manx Telecom says that approximately 60% of all households and businesses on the Island will be in range of the new ultrafast Ultima service which will deliver seamless and ever faster data connections, making a huge difference to the way Manx people experience the Internet. October also sees the launch of Manx Telecom’s Price Match Promise which the company says will guarantee the best mobile phone prices on the Island. “Today, mobile phones are a part of everyone’s life, but choosing the right phone – and getting the best deal – can be confusing. Now, with our Price Match Promise, Manx Telecom customers will have the assurance that any phone they buy from us will come at the best price on the Island; if not, we will refund the difference,” says David Smith. It’s a simple promise, but one which we know will save our customers time and money, and we expect it to be very popular. Communication, keeping in touch, and taking advantage of all that the Internet has to offer has never been more central to people’s lives, and everything we are launching in October is part of our determination to make sure that Manx people get the best technology and great value, delivered locally, to the highest standards.” - ENDS –
