Request For Information

by isleofman.com 6th October 2011
About 6.15pm on Wednesday 5 October 2011 an altercation took place between two men in Malew Street at its junction with Bank Street, Castletown. As a result of that incident a 42 year old local man suffered serious head injuries and is presently being treated in Nobles Hospital. Another local man, aged 35 years, is presently in custody at Police Headquarters. Police are not looking for any other suspects at this time. They are, however, keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t yet come forward. They are particularly keen to speak to a white man in his 40’s or 50’s with short dark hair and wearing a navy blue fleece who was present at the scene at the time of the incident. The following roads are closed in Castletown in order to allow further examination by police forensic staff in daylight; 1. The whole of Bank Street. 2. Malew Street between the Old Church at numbers 32/ 34, and Market Square. Police apologise to the community for any inconvenience such closures may bring and ask for patience as they work to complete their enquiries and re-open the roads. ENDS
