Rossborough Insurance Announces Sponsorship of Vagabonds Colts Team

by isleofman.com 6th October 2011
Insurance broker Rossborough Insurance (IoM) will be sponsoring the Vagabonds Colts Team as part of its ongoing commitment to the local community. Rossborough have generously agreed to sponsor the Vagabonds Colts Team for the next two years. The sponsorship package means that all of the Senior Colts Team players (aged 14 and above) got given brand new shirts for the start of the new season. The new shirts are the same design as those worn by the Adult First Team at Vagabonds, which means that the Colts Team can feel more included in the club and see clearly what they are aiming for. Tim Rattray, Managing Director of Rossborough Insurance (IOM), presented these to the team at the new Ballafletcher Sports ground on Sunday 2nd October. Gordon Leece, who coaches the Colts Team, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity because it really means that we can take the Colts Team to the next level. The transitional period between the ages of 14-18 is a really key period for Youth Rugby because it’s the time that a lot of young people stop playing sport and give up these kinds of activities. The new shirts will keep the motivation alive by showing the boys that if they keep at it, they will end up in the First Team one day. “As the strength of our adult team depends entirely on the development and retention of our Youth players, being able to retain more players at this crucial age will really fuel the long-term success of the club. We are also really hoping that sustaining the involvement of more Senior Youth players on a regular basis means that we will be able to bring the Youth Team to more off-Island games. This will be fantastic because it means the boys can play against tough opponents and challenge themselves. It’s also good for the club, because we have a real ‘Vagabonds family’ here, and everyone loves getting involved and going on trips away with the teams.” Tim of Rossborough is delighted with the new deal: “The club are already achieving fantastic results and we’re proud to be able to be a part of that. We hope that our sponsorship will allow the team to achieve even greater success. It’s great to know that we are giving something back to the young people of the Isle of Man, and everyone at the company is very excited about following the progress of the team this season!” - Ends -
