Update about Incident in Castletown

Further to the earlier media release in respect of the incident which occurred about 6.15pm on Wednesday 5 October 2011 in Malew Street at its junction with Bank Street, Castletown, the police can provide a further update; The 42 year old local man who suffered head injuries remains in a serious condition in Nobles Hospital. The 35 year old local man who was arrested in the early hours of this morning has been released from police custody with no action taken, and is not on bail. A further 30 year old local man has since been arrested and is presently in custody at Police Headquarters. The man wearing a navy blue fleece who was present at the scene has been traced and interviewed as a witness. The road closures in Malew Street and Bank Street were lifted late this afternoon. Police are grateful for the patience shown by local residents and traders whilst valuable evidence was collected. ENDS
