Gold Award for Peel RNLI Secretary

Shirley Collin the Secretary of Peel RNLI Ladies Guild was presented with the RNLI Gold Badge at the Island meeting last Thursday evening. Shirley has been a supporter of the lifeboat for many years not only in Peel but also in Norwich where she lived prior to moving to Peel. The citation on her certificate read “In recognition of her valuable support of the lifeboat service”. Presented by Colin Williams the Divisional Inspector in the company of Adelle Fuller the Area Fund Raising Manager the Gold Badge is one of the highest presented by the RNLI. Shirley was supported by many of the volunteers of Peel who a week previous had raised ?1615 at a Mhellia (auction) held at the Whitehouse pub in Peel. The auction of veg. and other goods by Malcolm Kelly was well supported and is one of the main fund raising events of the year. The next event is a quiz night to be held at The Highwayman pub on the 23rd. October start at 8-00pm. This will be followed on 28th. October by a coffee morning to be held at St Patricks Hall , Peel. The Annual Savoury and Wine evening, to be held at Peel Golf Club on 25th. November again promises to be one of the Peel social events not to be missed. ENDS
