Road Closure in Douglas for Emergancy Gas Repairs

Manx Gas would like to inform the public that as a result of a gas escape on Clifton Terrace, Ballaquayle Road, Douglas, emergency repairs are necessary. In order to carry out the work as quickly and as safely as possible, Clifton Terrace/Ballaquayle Road will beclosed with parking suspended between the junction of Victoria Road and theentrance to Hutchinson Square. The road closure and suspension of parking will take effect at 09:30 on Friday 14th October 2011 and will remain in place until 17:00 on Tuesday 18th October 2011. Robert Gardner, engineering manager at Manx Gas, said, “This is an emergency situation and unfortunately cannot be left unattended.” He added: “This will clearly cause delays for motorists in central Douglas and Manx Gas apologises for any inconvenience. We will make every effort to complete the work as soon as possible, giving full regard to the safety of the general public.” Contact Manx Gas on 644444 if you require any further information or have any queries relating to the work.
