Dubs For Wildlife: Appeal for Help

by isleofman.com 13th October 2011
The Wildflowers of Mann Project is currently looking for help from people to join us in a practical task to restore a pond for wildlife. Lough Gat-y-Whing was once an important wetland site north of Andreas full of rare plants and wildlife. In the past 50 years the pond has become choked with willow scrub which we are looking to cut down and burn with the help of any willing volunteers. If we have enough help the pond will once again be a wildlife rich habitat next summer. The next practical task is on Sunday 23rd October at 10am to 1pm. All you need to help are wellie boots, work gloves and the willingness to cut down and burn as much willow as you can! Get in touch with andree (andree@manxwt.org.uk) or call 844432 for more details.
