New Council of Ministers Announced

The new Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Allan Bell MHK, has today (Friday October 14, 2011) announced his Council of Ministers to lead the departments of government. Mr Bell commented: ‘The public expect a united and mature response from their politicians to the serious challenges facing our Island. As I have already made clear, I am taking an inclusive approach to the business of Government so that we can all work together for the good of the Isle of Man and its people. ‘I believe the composition of this new Council of Ministers reflects that approach – they are a team blending experience and fresh thinking that hopefully will be able to mesh well with the rest of their Tynwald colleagues.’ The new Council of Ministers comprises Mr Bell plus the following nine Ministers in charge of: Community, Culture and Leisure – Tim Crookall MHK Economic Development – John Shimmin MHK Education and Children – Peter Karran MHK Environment, Food and Agriculture – Phil Gawne MHK Health – David Anderson MHK Home Affairs – Juan Watterson MHK Infrastructure – David Cretney MHK Social Care – Chris Robertshaw MHK Treasury – Eddie Teare MHK - Ends -
