2012 TT Homestay Schem Launched This Week

by isleofman.com 17th October 2011
Homestay Registration for the TT Festival and Manx Grand Prix Festival 2012 has been launched this week. The Department of Economic Development has sent out registration forms to home owners who have previously registered offering them the opportunity to register for the scheme again next year. Householders considering offering Homestay accommodation for both events are advised to register their interest with the Department as soon as possible to help to meet the ever-increasing demand and enable visitors to secure their bookings early. The registration fee is ?15.00 to include both the Manx Grand Prix and TT. Homestay can be offered during TT for any number of nights between 28th May and 10th June and for Manx Grand Prix between 18th August and 2nd September 2012. Last year the Department registered over 700 properties. Chief Executive for Economic Development Colin Kniveton said: ‘The success of the TT has been built on the goodwill and support of residents of the Isle of Man. I would like to thank everyone who has opened their homes previously, for their help and cooperation and it is reassuring that we can count on our residents to make TT 2012 as successful as in previous years. Whilst the Department has made great progress in increasing Homestay availability we still wish to see more people open up their homes in order to provide accommodation for visitors.’ For further information please download the Guidance Notes from www.visitisleofman.com/homestay. If you feel you meet the criteria and would like to register for the Homestay scheme please call the Homestay team on 686802 or email homestay@gov.im . ENDS
